Maybe I'm just chasing shadows

Happy Fifth of July to you all! I know a lot of you have been thinking to yourselves "Self, I wonder what Adam has been listening to as of late?" Well allow me to kill your curiosity and shoot you ten albums or songs that I've been listening to as of late.

10. Pig Destroyer- Phantom Limb. Imagine what was going on in Jack Torrence's head in The Shining, add a soundtrack, and you have Pig Destroyer. It's chaotic, brutal, and beautiful.

9. Morrissey- Kiss Me A Lot. Ladies and Gents it's the Moz! Honestly folks, it's so incredibly catchy you really can't help but love it. Morrissey can bring you to the lowest depths, but not with this one.

8. Tool- Aenima. Honestly one of my top albums of ever, So deep, so internal, so emotional. It's fantastic. Do yourself a favor, go in a dark room,  get some really good headphones so you don't miss one note that Jones, Carey, and Chancellor beautifully craft, and then put yourself in a very vulnerable place so you can really take in every emotion that Maynard takes you through,

7. Crosses- †††. As many know (and if you don't know now you know) I am a huge fan on Chino Moreno and if I had to put any of his side groups second to Deftones it'd be Crosses. If you've ever read any interviews with Chino and he names his influences you can see them all in this album. This is the record he was born to make.

6. Bad Religion- Suffer. As Fat Mike once put it "the record that changed everything." If your stuck listening to Green Day or Fall Out Boy do yourself a favor give this a listen to and find out what Punk was all about.

5. A Tribe Called Quest- Midnight Marauders. Early 90's New York hip hop. Jazz beats and well crafted lyrics. Fuck this new stuff they try to pass off as hip hop. Listen to this.

4. Ghost- Opus Eponymous. This band gets so much shit but I don't care. I love the whole Blue Oyster Cult meets ABBA meets Satan. It works for me.

3. Daft Punk- Discovery. Great album from start to finish. It's also the soundtrack to an anime called Interstella 5555. An interstellar pop band that plays Daft Punk. What's not to love? So check that out.

2. John Coltrane- Blue Train. As a jazz lover this album is fantastic. Seriously, play this record on a warm summers night with a cold drink and you are golden. I promise.

1. Pantera- Far Beyond Driven. Feeling shitty about yourself? Need to feel larger than life? Throw on this fucking record. Balls out Southern American metal. Listen to this and tell me you don't feel ten feet tall.

So there you have it folks. Ten songs or albums that I have been listening to as of late. Take it, leave it, whatever.
